Travel to New Places
Invigorates All of Us

At press time, crude oil has topped $78 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), and the national average price of unleaded regular gasoline has reached $3 per gallon. But strangely enough, the Consumer Confidence Index increased.

When the negative news increases, the doomsayers are easy to find; but to their credit, travel industry professionals barely even blinked. They've been too busy booking travel reservations for their clients. As many of you know, that's what we do—every day.

So at a time when headlines can seem distressing, we just want to remind you that travel is quite possibly the best way to vacation, take a break, and put things back into a healthy perspective. There's an awful lot to see, visit and enjoy, and we're here to help you do that with total peace of mind. If you're thinking of cruising the Italian Riviera, or maybe AAA Adventures' "Canada's Paw Prints in the Snow," an Indian Ocean Passage, or Trafalgar Tours' "Taste of Britain," please visit any of our 70 branch locations in Florida, Georgia, western Tennessee and Puerto Rico that can assist you in planning everything you need. I'm leaning toward AAA SignaTours' "Iceland Fire & Ice Thanksgiving"! It features Reykjavik and South Shore sightseeing and a Golden Circle tour, highlighted by Thanksgiving dinner with NATO troops.

Let our travel professionals share some suggestions with you. (If you don't have time to drop in, visit aaa.com/travel, or call 1-800-313-7245.)

Newsweek's business columnist Robert J. Samuelson wrote in July, "What we do know is that the American economy has consistently confounded powerful reasons for it to falter. It has shown itself to be remarkably resilient. If we are lucky, it will prove so again."

Of course, you folks who've already made your travel reservations knew that all along!
