Have you ever been frustrated by the decisions made or laws passed by local, state or federal policymakers? Are you concerned with poor road quality, traffic congestion and distracted driving...things that affect your freedom of mobility and safety? Do you think that your voice isn’t heard amid the clamoring chatter of special interests?

If you answered “yes,” you are not alone. So what’s the solution? Get involved! In an election year featuring a race for governor and many other statewide offices, your involvement is more important than ever. Political races can be won or lost by only a few votes. It really is up to “We The People...” to elect or re-elect leaders who can make a difference.

Here’s how you can help…And how we can help you:

Register to vote. Nearly 25 percent of those eligible still aren’t registered to vote. The deadline for registering in the General Election is Oct. 10.

Learn about the candidates and issues. Get educated about who’s running for office and understand their positions on issues of importance to you. Read about proposed amendments to your state’s constitution; these proposals are often too complex to digest in the voting booth.

Visit aaa.com/vote. This website is your one-stop interactive resource for political action, education and involvement. With aaa.com/vote, we’ve made it easy for you to register to vote, learn about the candidates, and contact your state, federal and local elected officials. On issues that you’ve told us are important to you, we will provide updates on pending legislation and even suggest message points, should you wish to make your position known.
