Property Damage Liability(All About Auto Insurance, Part 4)This is the fourth in a yearlong series explaining everything you need to know about purchasing Automobile Insurance. In this issue, we will address Property Damage Liability. In future issues, we will answer the following questions:
We’ll complete the series later this year with a recap, including a Printable Auto Accident Guide. >What is Property Damage Liability? >AAA Gas for a Year Sweepstakes What is Property Damage Liability? This coverage pays for damage you (or someone driving your car with your permission) may cause to someone else's property. Usually, this means damage to someone else’s car, but it also includes damage to lamp posts, telephone poles, fences, buildings or other structures your car has hit. On your policy, the property damage liability coverage amount is the third number in the series of three, such as 100/200/50. In this case, the 100 means you have $100,000 in bodily injury coverage per person, $200,000 in bodily injury coverage per accident (all persons combined), and $50,000 in property damage coverage per accident. From now through Sept. 30, 2006, AAA Auto Club South is conducting its AAA Gas for a Year Sweepstakes, awarding four recipients a gas card worth $2,400 (over $46 dollars a week for a year). Remaining random drawings of all eligible entries will be held on June 30 and Sept. 30, 2006. Simply contact the AAA Insurance Agency at your local branch, call (877) 288-4546 or click here to request a free auto policy review and be entered to win. For the sweepstakes’ official rules, click here. The winner of the first drawing was recently awarded his prize in the Tucker, GA, AAA branch. AAA member Hee Young Choi said he and his family plan to drive to Orlando and Washington, DC, to take advantage of the extra gas money he won in the contest. Mr. Choi purchased an auto policy after submitting an online auto quote request, which automatically entered him into the sweepstakes. Watch your e-mail inbox in early June for the next issue of Auto Club South’s member newsletter, where we will address the next topic in our Auto Insurance series, “What is Collision Coverage?” |
