Retail Gasoline Prices Spike As NYMEX Crude Oil Closes Week Above $80 Per Barrel
Tampa, FL October 25, 2009 Despite weak consumer demand and ample fuel supplies, crude oil on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) posted its highest weekly closing price of 2009, $80.50 per barrel, pushing up wholesale and retail fuel prices. The national average price of gasoline increased by 12 cents per gallon in the past week.

AAA Conducted On-Site Distracted Driving Surveys At Ponte Vedra High School To Bring Attention To Teen Driver Behavior
Ponte Vedra FL October 20, 2009 This morning AAA conducted an observational survey of 271 student drivers at Ponte Vedra High School as they entered the student parking lot. Interestingly, the observed behaviors were not as dangerous as the distracted behaviors to which the students admitted in a written survey last week. For example, in the written survey 91 percent admitted talking on a cell phone while driving and 84 percent admitted to texting while driving, yet only 11 percent were observed engaging in these or other distracted behaviors.
